Challenge:
ADM Agriculture approached Stem to submit a full planning application for a new extension and refurbishment to their head office. Lindsay House forms part of the RAF Hemswell site and the proposed will form a new entrance, lobby and new meeting room to the first floor. ADM wanted to design a statement building serving to complement the existing building style and provide a improved corporate image.
Solution:
To utilise the distinctive corporate identity of ADM, the prominent colours of white, green and blue were heavily features in the aesthetics and interiors. The art deco style of the extension fits seamlessly with the company logo and colours with soft curves and striking edges. The local vernacular was incorporated within the design including the historic water tower and other prominent buildings at the Hemswell Cliff site.
Conclusion:
ADM’s head office has been transformed into a flagship dynamic office that is both sensitive to the local surroundings and influenced by the art deco style features of the local RAF buildings. The vast open plan office with a central core with wings off the side provide the flexibility for ADM to most efficiently deliver an integrated supply chain in milling and oil seed crushing and supplying non grain feed ingredients as a global industry leader.
