Formally known as The Zetland Hotel, the building was originally designed as a luxurious Victorian hotel to serve the then Stockton and Darlington Railway. The Zetland was the brainchild of Henry Peace, Director of the Stockton and Darlington Railway, who is said to have built Saltburn from scratch having an apparition of a heavenly city on the cliffs with the Zetland being the jewel in the crown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
