Challenge:
YAS proposed to convert the existing building to form a new ambulance station comprising of operational staff changing rooms, relaxation and refreshment areas as well as management offices, training facilities, clinical hub and meeting rooms. In addition, the building will provide garage facilities for ambulance vehicle preparation and fleet including storerooms for stock, equipment and cleaning materials. The proposed new ambulance hub will provide a strategic opportunity to dramatically reduce refurbishment costs of existing stations and supporting premises and also allow for much needed additional space capacity.
