Travelodge, Newark

Challenge:

The former Robin Hood Hotel now Newark Travelodge was dilapidated derelict building that the client wanted to refurbish and convert into a hotel, whilst retaining many of the historic features and building elements.

Solution:

Stem Architects proposed a design that maximised space, which included a new extension that complemented the surrounding environment and made use of the historic buildings elements to converse the previous dilapidated building.

Conclusion:

A modern addition to the Travelodge’s portfolio was completed in Newark, part of this is an extension to the former Robin Hood Hotel building. Newark Travelodge consists of many of the original features that have been conserved and subsequently highlighted a focal point of this modern hotel.
