Challenge:
The brief called for attractive yet functional space which could showcase the processes involved in the manufacturing of food as well as housing teaching spaces to work alongside the more practical elements of the course.
Solution:
Bespoke classrooms, seminar rooms and a conference suite run parallel to the production area at ground and first floor levels, allowing for views across the production floor. The vibrant main façade is punctuated by large glazed sections, allowing ample light to flood into the classroom spaces. This is framed with a cedar clad surround, tying it together with the more utilitarian main production space to the rear.
Conclusion:
The end result is an extremely functional facility blended harmoniously with attractive modern academic and business spaces to form a distinctive building which has proved to be extremely popular with staff and students alike.
