Challenge:
The proposal was to develop the site to provide a purpose-built, three-storey, seventy-two bed residential care facility for older people with associated access, car parking and landscaping. It was required to accommodate a new modern and innovative care home that provides character of accommodation, which delivers a higher quality of life for residents.
Solution:
The design with the plan layout and internal arrangements allow the care home to be split into the separate care requirements. Reflecting key design principles found in the local architectural vernacular and keeping the scale residential and classic provides an environment that residents will feel comfortable in. The regeneration to the existing landscaping creatives an attractive garden within the dense foliage and provides a idyllic outdoor environment for residents.
Conclusion:
This 72-bed, purpose-built facility is designed to provide high-quality residential and dementia care, this home will soon welcome its first residents, offering a safe, comfortable, and nurturing space tailored to their needs. Every element of this development has been designed with residents’ wellbeing in mind, ensuring a space that promotes dignity, independence, and comfort.
