Challenge:
North Notts College wanted to undertake a refurbishment of several of their buildings to improve the dilapidated facilities for Hair & Beauty, Joinery, Digital Skills, Healthcare & Childcare. North Notts need the spaces to reflect real world settings that were conducive to modern industry standards. A new entrance facade was also required to bring a modern feel to the building.
Solution:
The designs were adapted to allow for the interchanging of equipment and multiple uses of the workshops. The salon for Hair & Beauty includes the creation of a specialist barbers salon setting with district interchangeable branding and equipment etc. Folding sliding walls and full FF&E finishes upgrade the facilities to match professional standards.
Conclusion:
The new T level building has been designed to ensure North Notts students have the space, facilities and digital resources to complete their theory and practical projects at North Notts College. Also, it has provided students with real world experience that equips them with going into industry with required skills to benefit businesses and their personal progression and career goals.
