Cowick Hall, Snaith

Client
Croda International PLC

Challenge:

The existing Grade I Listed building is of exceptional national interest and great care, specialist conservation knowledge and working practices is required for a historical building of this importance. The existing building has been the global headquarters of Croda International PLC for the past 60 years and is the operational centre for its subsidiary Croda Europe.

Solution:

The project involved the production of detailed information and working specifications of traditional working practices for working with historical existing building fabric. Specialist conservation knowledge and close-working with the contractor enabled the resolution any issues that were uncovered on site.

Conclusion:

The understanding of the nature of the existing historical building resulted in a completely refurbished building, which provides a modern office accommodation whilst being respectful to the existing historical building. This provides Croda with a modern encompassing refurbishment of their grade I listed company headquarters.
