Works Commence on MVT Training Centre

Stem Architects are pleased to announce that works have now commenced on site for the construction of a new ‘State of the Art’ Motor Vehicle Technology Training Centre for Barnsley College. 

Located on the Honeywell site on the fringe of Barnsley Town centre, the MVT building will be the first step in the development of a new strategic Masterplan for Barnsley College which is designed to provide improved connectivity and links to the main Barnsley College sites in the Town Centre.

The new MVT building will employ a range of sustainable design measures to create a unique teaching and learning facility, combining modern FE teaching spaces with practical working bays for Traditional Petroleum based, Hybrid and Electrical vehicles providing students with the skill base required to gain a career within the Motor Vehicle Technology industry.

The MVT building will also be fitted with professional MOT bays and tyre fitting services which will be available for public usage.

Works are due to be completed in June 2023 to be open for business for the commencement of the academic year September 2023.
