Challenge:
Lincoln University tasked Stem to complete a capital project providing additional academic space to support the increased delivery of courses by the Human Performance Department. The new development was in the form of an extension to the existing academic facility which is co-located with the University’s indoor sports provision.
Solution:
The extension added state-of-the-art physiology, biochemistry and biomechanical laboratories to the existing sport centre, which provides a variety of teaching and learning environments as well as providing new opportunities for research and ancillary staff/student occupational well-being support.
Conclusion:
This development was aligned with the educational mission and was a continuation of the expansion for the Lincoln University master plan. The Human Performance Centre was a vital addition to cope with Lincoln University’s ever increasing numbers. The unique design and state of the art facilities provide students with professional lab environments to replicate real work experience.
