The scheme was to replace two existing dilapidated buildings and sensitively detach them from the renovated Grade I listed limestone Temple Folly and the Grade II listed Greestone School by William Watkins. blank The old structures were demolished and new, open-plan, multi-functional studio pavilions for the Arts were erected in their place. The Pavilions sit at the summit of the Temple Garden, framed by the Cathedral walls; simple rectangular timber structures sited in the mature urban park respectfully overlook this important historic setting – a return to the traditional values of a ‘Pavilion in the Park’.
